HiLo Lucky Step — Bet Types & the Pot

HiLo Lucky Step has no bonus rounds — the whole game is one call at a time, a pot that grows while you are right, and the button that banks it.

Every Bet Type, Explained

No bonus rounds here — what follows is every bet the game offers and how the pot works, taken from Altente's own in-game rules. New to hi-lo? The how to play HiLo Lucky Step guide walks you through a round.

The Main Bets

When It Applies

Clicking Higher, Lower, Equal, Red or Black. Any main bet starts the round automatically.

What Happens

One card sits face-up in the centre. Higher and Lower bet on the rank of the next card against it, Equal bets that the next card matches its value exactly, and Red and Black bet on colour instead. Each button displays the payout multiplier you will receive for that specific call, so the game prices your odds for you before you commit. Once the round has begun the bet cannot be changed until it finishes.

Multipliers

Quoted per button, per card. The figure shown is what your stake pays if that call comes in.

Strategy

Read the button, not your gut. When the centre card sits near the edges of the deck the obvious call is cheap and the contrarian one is expensive — that spread is the whole information edge available to you.

The Pot and the Collect Button

When It Applies

Any correct call.

What Happens

A winning call pays into a pot rather than straight into your balance. At that point you decide: keep playing the same round with the pot riding on the next card, or collect it and end the round. There is also a partial option — the game offers a take-half button alongside the full collect. Guess wrong at any step and the pot is lost and the round ends.

Multipliers

The pot grows with each correct call and is capped by the game’s 2,153x maximum win.

Strategy

This is the only real decision in the game. Bank early on the expensive calls and push only when the visible card makes the next one easy. Deciding your exit before the round starts beats deciding it while a pot is sitting in front of you.

Side Bets: Straight, Flush and 777

When It Applies

Optional, placed from the Side Bets menu before a round.

What Happens

Altente’s listed special function for this game. Each side bet looks at the next three cards starting from the current one. Straight wins on three cards of consecutive rank, and the order does not matter — 6-7-5 counts as readily as 5-6-7. Flush wins on three cards of the same suit. 777 wins on any three sevens. They run alongside the main higher-or-lower call rather than replacing it.

Multipliers

Each side bet pays on its own terms, separately from the main pot.

Strategy

None of them are compulsory, and you set their size yourself. Treat them as a separate wager with its own budget rather than as a hedge on the main call, because they do not protect the pot.

Bet History

When It Applies

The tables button on the control panel.

What Happens

The game keeps a record of your last 50 rounds, split between bank operations and your own bets — time, stake, win, and which call you made each round, including side bets. It is the one place the game shows you your own pattern rather than the cards.

Multipliers

None. It is a record, not a feature that pays.

Strategy

Worth opening after a long session. A history full of deep runs that ended at zero is the clearest argument for collecting earlier that you will get.
